Bed and Breakfast Catania

The B&B Picone, consisting of 4 independent rooms (3 double and 1 triple) with balcony, internal bathroom, wireless internet, TV and air conditioning (besides the breakfast room and the adjoining kitchenette), is located in the heart of the historic center of Catania, on the picturesque Via Umberto, in a large and bright apartment completely renovated on the first floor of an ancient building of the early twentieth century, located close to the colorful Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, with its crowded ciospi – characteristic kiosks where delicious drinks based on seltz with lemon or variegated typical syrups – and a few steps from the most important city street, the Via Etnea, the “Catania living room” – where you can still breathe the atmosphere of the eighteenth-century city, so risen after countless natural disasters – with its splendid baroque, the wide lava stone sidewalks and the elegant shops.

Thanks to the public transport that passes on via Umberto (one stop is right under the B&B) or in the immediate vicinity, it is possible to easily reach even the most decentralized destinations, such as the railway and suburban bus station, the airport and, above all, the promenade and the various beaches that characterize the Catania coast: from the lava stone cliffs, forged by ancient eruptions of Etna (and in summer equipped with practical solariums), to the golden sandy expanse of the Playa.
